The Crimson Cult is a research option found under the Eldritch tab that offers a small amount of information as to what the Crimson Cult actually is and can be unlocked by reading a Crimson Rites book. It is classified as Forbidden Knowledge, of a Moderate degree, however, and as such will also Warp the individual upon reading.

The Crimson Cult[]

Mobs[]

There are 3 mobs that associate themselves with the Crimson Cult, them being: the Crimson Cleric, the Crimson Knight and the Crimson Praetor.

Crimson Cleric[]

The Crimson Cleric can be spawned from either Portals that appear randomly if one has obtained enough Warp, or can be found around some Eldritch Obelisks, where they periodically summon knights, which periodically despawn. These clerics do not despawn, and if killed will not respawn. Crimson Clerics have 12 hearts of health and 13 total points of armor and attack in one of three ways: balls of energy that follow the player but may be shaken off, a barrage of flaming projectiles similar to fire charges or a ghast's attack, or by hand. The energy ball does 2 hearts of damage, the projectile attacks do 2.5 hearts of damage along with lighting the player on fire, and attacking by hand does 1.5 hearts of damage. When killed, the Crimson Cleric has a chance to drop any of its armor pieces, a Crimson Rites book, gold coins, Knowledge Fragments or Void Seeds.

Crimson Knight[]

The Crimson Knight, like the Crimson Cleric, can be spawned from either Portals that appear randomly if one has obtained enough Warp, or can be found around Eldritch Obelisks, although the latter is not guaranteed. The Crimson Knight has 15 hearts of health and 15 armor points and attacks at close range with an iron sword, dealing 3 hearts of damage. They have the same drops, with their respective armor pieces, as the Crimson Cleric.

Crimson Praetor[]

The Crimson Praetor is a mini-boss spawned only by the Greater Crimson Portal, a boss in the Outer Lands. It has 75 hearts of health and 19 points of armor and attacks at close range with a Void Metal sword, dealing 3.5 hearts of damage. However, weakness is not inflicted from the hit. Upon dying, they can drop Rare Treasure Bags, the Crimson Blade, a sword that deals 7.5 damage and inflicts Sapping II on enemies hit with it, having 201 points of durability, it's armor, like both other Crimson units before it, or a Primordial Pearl. It has not yet been confirmed, however, whether the Crimson Blade can be dropped or not. The Crimson Praetor should only be fought with caution, as they have a large amount of health, armor, damage and regenerate health at approximately 1 heart per second.
